AFO 2009
The AFA is very pleased to be able to announce that the Australian Floorball Open will be held in the ACT this year, from July 9th to 12th inclusive.
Those of you who attended the IFF seminars in the ACT will remember the excellent facilities there, and their proximity to accommodation and shopping.
Details will be emailed out soon by the organisers, however if you require information in the interim please contact either me, Patrik Nilsson

Club Incentive Program
The AFA introduced the Club Incentive Program in 2007 to reward those clubs that actively increase their member numbers, promote the game, participate in tournaments, run training sessions and organise tournaments and competitions.
The AFA is now please toannounce the inaugural Club Incentive Winners
We now have pleasure in announcing winning clubs from two states; WA: Revolution Sharks
VIC: Melbourne Huskies These clubs will each receive $500 in cash and a $500 voucher from our sponsors Salming. Congratulations to both clubs, we hope you keep up the good work and keep growing your club and the sport.
Other clubs have also been awarded grants and we will be forwarding Salming Vouchers for $250 to each of the following:
ACT: Western Creek Pirates
NSW: Glebe, Northern Beaches Stingrays
WA: Kookaburras, Redbacks
VIC: Spartans, Vikings, Foxes
Thanks to all of you for your interest in this promotion. We will be in touch shortly with your vouchers and to get details from the two winners regarding accounts for transfer of the cash prize.

Aussie on IFF Central Board
At the IFF General Assembley in Prague this month Stephen King was elected to the IFF Central Board.
This is the first time a non-european has been appointed to the IFF Central Board since its inception.
This clearly shows the amount of support for Floorball in Australia and Asia Pacific by the other Floorball nations
Rainer Martiskin was also re-appointed to the IFF Disciplinary Committee.
Australia already has Mel (Bubba) Cathie on the IFF Athletes Commission and Peter (PDot) Harris as an IFF Referee Observer |

For everyone's information and to allow for planning the following Floorball Tournaments are confirmed or planned for 2009-2010
- APAC 2009 Men's Korea 23rd-29th March 2009
- AFO 2009 TBC but likely to be after July 2009
- NBO 2009 around mid Oct 2009
- WFC 2009 Women's Sweden December 2009
- APAC 2010 Venue TBC will be held Feb Internationals weekend. This tournament will be the men's qualification tournament for WFC 2010
- AFO 2010 TBC
- NBO 2010 around mid Oct 2010
- WFC 2010 Men's Finland December 2010 |

APAC 2009
The AFA confirms the appointment of Peter (PDot) Harris as Coach of the Australian Men's team to compete at APAC 2009 in Korea 23rd-29th March 2009.
Don O'Brien has been appointed as Tour Manager, other positions are yet to be confirmed.
Please ensure all nominations are in ASAP as the squad will be selected by the end of January 2009.
