Queensland Floorball Christmas Clash!

The QLD Floorball Christmas Clash was the first intercity floorball competition Queensland Floorball has seen. The competition was held in Brisbane on Saturday 3rd December 2011 and involved more than 40 male and female players from Brisbane and Cairns and a couple of visiting ring-ins from NSW and Europe.

The one day tournament included 3 mens teams and 2 womens teams playing three period (modified time) round robin matches and finals. Thanks to Michael McCallum and the generous financial support provided by the Australian Floorball Association Development Fund the QLD FLoorball Association was able to kick off some formal referee mentoring and training. The games were followed by an evening of socialising at the Ship Inn (South Brisbane).

The 2011 QLD Floorball Christmas Clash was a great social start to what will hopefully become an annual event for floorball players across QLD. Northern Beaches Summer Floorball Party

All systems go for the Northern Beaches Summer Floorball party on January 28 with teams from ACT (x3), Wollongong, Newcastle, Central Coast Peninsula, Costa Rican Iguanas, Bondi and 4 Northern Beaches Teams... Bring on the sunshine and let the party begin!

The first round pairings will be drawn in 'Soccer World Cup' style and Northern Beaches invite you to follow the proceedings on skype. The draw will happen on Tuesday January 17, 9.30pm EAST - contact Reto Wolf for details.

Northern Beaches Summer Floorball Party!

The Northern Beaches Floorball Club has announced the newest addition to the annual floorball calendar - The Northern Beaches Summer Floorball Party!

This will be a 4 on 4 mixed outdoor floorball tournament where fun is part of the program. It's held in Sydney's Northern Beaches and will happen on January 28, 2012.

National Men's Team changes

The AFA would like to announce a couple of changes to the National Mens Team as named recently. Unfortunately Shaun Frazer has had to withdraw due to a professional opportunity and Tim Hardy has withdrawn injured. We are very sorry to lose both Shaun & Tim from the team and wish them both well.

Replacing them in the team will be Kent Haigh from ACT and Anders Bergman from Queensland, and we would like to warmly welcome them to the team at this time and thank them for their contribution.

We would also like to express our appreciation to Mitchell George of NSW who has stepped in at the last moment to replace Russell Hall (VIC) who has unfortunately had to withdraw. Thank you Mitch, we hope you enjoy the tour!
